2024 Colorado Gold Writers Conference
Tuesdays at 6:30 pm, I like to go to the Shut Up & Write! Meetup event at Stodgy Brewing. It's one of my favorite breweries in Fort Collins, especially during the warmer months.
We start off by introducing ourselves and describing a little about what we're working on (which can be anything writing-related - from a full-length novel to your nephew's birthday card). Then we spend about an hour writing with no distractions. Afterward, you can stick around if you like, and we all enjoy each other's company over a pint or three.

Last year I attended my first writers conference. It was the RMFW 40th anniversary conference. I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to go by writing an essay for RMFW. They paid for my ticket to the conference and my meals. If you're a first-timer and are interested in going, I highly recommend submitting an essay for the scholarship (I believe they award only four scholarships per year, so it is somewhat competitive).
I had such an incredible experience last year that I decided to attend again this year, except this time, I'll be paying my own way. I'll be there all three days, and I'm going to try not to fanboy out too hard, but the keynote speaker at the Gala this year will be none other than best-selling novelist and Terrible Minds blog creator CHUCK WENDIG!
So...obviously, you should go. Tickets are discounted for RMFW members, and there are discounts for early birds. If you're interested in meeting up at the event, send me a message through the Contact form on this website and we can make plans. I hope to see you there!
